St Patrick’s Church of England School, provides education in accordance with the principles and practices of the Church of England.  Worship, religious education and spiritual development are at the heart of every aspect of the work of this school.  The school aims to serve the community by producing a high standard of education and to allow people to grow in warmth, confidence and security.

At St Patrick’s CE Primary we encourage our children to care for each other and the world in which we live. We teach them to develop these skills through the wider curriculum as well as through direct teaching of Christian values.

‘Teachers have a very good understanding of the importance of promoting pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development alongside their academic learning. This contributes enormously to the ethos of the school and its position in the local community.’

Values underlying public life in the United Kingdom have been summarised as ‘including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs’. Through our provision of Spiritual Moral Social Cultural Education, St Patrick’s Church of England Primary School ensures the teaching of these values in its curriculum. These values are the basis for Christian teaching and of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As such, they are respected in a very wide range of countries throughout the world.
