We place a high value on good standards. Assessments across the school shows that progress for current pupils in reading, writing and mathematics is good. We have a trained Reading Intervention teacher on our staff who provides one to one support for children who need additional support in Literacy. Children who receive this intervention make very good progress so that their learning is accelerated to be in line with expected levels.
School leaders, including Governors at St Patrick’s CE, are rigorous in their scrutiny of progress of all cohorts across the school to make sure that all our children make good progress, including those with Special Educational Needs.
As with most village schools, we have small numbers of children in each year group. It is worth noting that national data is based on percentages, which can be misleading when numbers are very small. In 2017 nine children took the KS2 test and 5 children took the KS1 test.
