The children had a great day taking part in a range of orienteering activities last week. All the children participated, from Reception to Year 6, developing skills such as map-reading and learning how to use a compass. We were lucky to have great weather too!

Brewery Dance Platform
“On Monday the 19th some of Class 3 and 2 went to the Brewery Arts Centre to do a dance performance. At the time our topic was ‘kings and queens’ so we based the dance on it. We all had royal costumes; the boys wore golden waistcoats and the girls wore leotards and black tutus. Everyone was nervous, even the Year 6’s. But we all enjoyed dancing, although it was in front of about 400 people! We asked all of the children and they agreed that it was an amazing experience to perform on stage.”

The children enjoyed a whole week of science work before half term. There were experiments, observations and conclusions being drawn up all across the school from Reception to Y6. The learning taking place was excellent and it was a pleasure to see children talking so excitedly about what they had been learning. The pictures above do not give you a real sense of the buzz that there was in school, but you can certainly see that the children were engrossed in their learning.
