“Learning together, growing together, supporting each other”
Collective Worship – Open the Book
Every Monday at 2.45-3.15pm a small team of volunteers made up of the Preston Patrick Church community, parents, staff and children meet at school to lead the OPEN THE BOOK Collective Worship assembly, using narration, drama, mime, props and costume to bring the wonders and wisdom of the Bible to our children.
The weekly bible stories are selected to clearly link to the curriculum and to the core Christian values, to reflect and reinforce the learning. There has been many high points already this year.
The children voted the Open the Book assemblies as their best Collective Worship; we must thank current and past team members who have devoted their time to contribute to this invaluable biblical learning.
If you would like to join us, even on the odd occasion do make this known to Mrs Edmondson; we would love to have you on board (if acting isn’t your thing, every week we need a narrator who reads the story from ‘The Lion Storyteller Bible’), actors are all non-speaking parts; people that would like to assist with props and costumes will also be welcomed! The assembly is held on a Monday afternoon; if you would like to know more about the OPEN THE BOOK initiative, please visit www.openthebook.net
